We currently have an opening in our Clarksburg, MD office for an experienced Inspection Team Lead in Quality Assurance. This position will report to the Manager of Quality Assurance.
Responsibilities:
Lead Responsibilities:
The team lead is responsible for leading staff assigned to one or more inspection centers used to inspect newly produced and customer owned electronic and mechanical assemblies from a diverse portfolio of products and technologies including but not limited to SMT assemblies, through-hole assemblies, conformally coated assemblies, and higher-level complex assemblies.
Coordinates responsibilities for assigned inspectors. This position carries out Lead responsibilities in accordance with the organization's operating policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include ensuring staff is performing to expectations, interviewing, hiring, training and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; preparing performance appraisals, rewarding and providing employee discipline when required; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Active mentoring and development of staff is a critical element of these responsibilities.
- Lead the day-to-day activities of the assigned inspection personnel.
- Ensure that teams are performing to work instructions and team is correctly logging into production orders.
- Accountable for quality, quantity and inspection of all work performed on assigned work centers.
- Monitors operational efficiencies, yields, and other data reports to guide labor efforts to meet or exceed standards.
- Inspect all products and sub-assemblies across all product lines.
- Perform technical responsibilities on assigned line with a high degree of proficiency.
- Assign work, train and mentor team on best practices of technical application on line.
- Keep manager informed of inspection equipment and product issues.
- Maintain a high ethical standard of practice, including compliance with all company procedures.
- Works with Concurrent, Test, Quality, and Design Engineering on Continuous Improvement team.
- Maintain a neat appearance in their work area and follow FOD compliance.
- Shall be accountable for quality, quantity, and inspection of all work performed.
Qualifications:

Applicant may be selected for work that requires ability to obtain and maintain US Secret Level Security Clearance.
- High school diploma required. AA Degree in a technical discipline preferred.
- 2 years of experience as an associate team lead or 4+ years of experience in inspection, or a related technical environment.
- ASQ CQI Certification Preferred.
- IPC-A-610 Certification Required.
- J-STD-001 Certification Required.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and associated notes.
- Experience in inspecting electrical assemblies in accordance with IPC standards.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Solid customer focus and management of key stakeholders.
- Experience with ERP Systems; SAP preferred.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Concepts such as Kanban, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis, etc. preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communications – Fluent in English.
- Ability to comply with all Company guidelines, policies, procedures and embrace Company Core Values.
The hourly pay range for this role is $28.80 - $36.80 USD, along with a target incentive compensation plan (ICP) of 5%. The pay range provided is a good faith estimate representative of the experience level for the role described above.
