Overview:
A lovely family in Newport Beach, CA is seeking a nanny to help care for their three kids, ages 12, 9, and 6. The position will start as soon as they find the right candidate. The role is primarily part-time hours, but the family pays a full time salary for the additional "on-call" time.The general daily schedule will be Monday-Friday, 2pm-7:30pm, but with a guarantee of 40 hours per week, with the occasional morning or weekend needed with notice. The additional hours are primarily in the evening, typically 2pm-10pm on the occasion the family has an event or needs to work late.
The family also spends the summer in Montana. They pay the nanny for the whole summer, and ask that the nanny accompany the family for at least 3 weeks. This is a loving and busy family that values their employees and is really looking for a nanny who can help fill the gap in the after-school care of their kids!
Responsibilities:
- Overall care of the children
- Engage with the children
- Oversee the children's schedule, calendar, activities, school, etc
- The kids have tutors, help coordinate and oversee the children's tutoring and keep them on track
- Keep the kids on schedule, oversee getting them ready and to any activities/appointments
- Driving the kids - school pick-ups, after school activities, appointments
- Scheduling appointments when needed and helping mom manage the kids' calendars
- Help mom and kids oversee and organize the kids stuff in the house - their rooms, playroom, going through art supplies,
- Help prepare snacks and light meals, and be able to warm up already prepared meals
- Their oldest daughter has some developmental delays/is mildly on the Autism Spectrum and has a full time therapist that works with her, nanny will coordinate with the therapist and parents to ensure her care is consistent
Qualifications:
- Calm, thoughtful, centered - does not get anxious or overwhelmed in a busy household
- Very "go-with-the-flow" and flexible
- Experience with special needs children is a huge plus
- Able to tag team with mom (think divide and conquer!)
- This is a mostly non-toxic home, someone open to maintaining this in the home
Requirements:
- Must have at least 5 years of professional nanny experience with references
- Team player with excellent communication
- Must be comfortable with dogs - the family has 4 dogs that are often gone during the day with the dog walker
- Must be open to joining the family in Montana for at least 3 weeks during the summer
- Valid Drivers License and Clean Driving record - a family car will be provided
- Infant/child CPR and First-Aid certified, or willing to certify
- Trustline Registered, or willing to register
- Legal to work in the US
Salary and Benefits:
