The UCI Law's Office of Admissions and Student Financial Services oversees the annual recruitment, selection, scholarship awarding, and matriculation into UCI Law's full-time JD program. Annually, it receives 3000+ applications for an incoming JD class consisting of 160 seats.
Responsibilities:
The Assistant / Associate Director of Admissions Operations plays an important role within the Admissions and Aid team by processing all the incoming applications for the JD programs from their submission to either decision or matriculation.They read one quarter of the applicant pool and makes first recommendations on the files they read. The assistant director also represents UCI Law at various recruitment or assists the team in the execution of our yield campaign. This position involves considerable travel during the law school recruiting season.
A successful candidate must demonstrate willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends. The candidate should be detail-oriented, possess strong speaking and writing skills, able to manage complicated projects, and analyze data. Moreover, they should demonstrate an exemplary work ethic, a strong sense of initiative, discretion, sensitivity, and excellent judgment.
The position reports directly to the Director of Admissions and collaborates with their teammates and other community partners.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $63,800.00- $75,590.00 (Annual).
Required:
- Thorough knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population.
- Ability to interpret and communicate University policies and procedures to prospective students and the public.
- Thorough and comprehensive knowledge of academic programs, including curricula, admissions requirements, and financial aid programs, at colleges/universities and specifically at UC, and/or specific colleges and schools.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with schools, universities, community organizations, and other institutions.
- Detail-oriented, possess strong speaking and writing skills, able to manage complicated projects, and analyze data. Demonstrate an exemplary work ethic, a strong sense of initiative, discretion, sensitivity, and excellent judgment.
- Proficiency using various databases (ACES2/UNITE), CRM platforms, or email marketing software. Advanced knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong organizational skills, including high attention to detail. Ability to write and edit communications to the public.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, changing environment and remain levelheaded.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure, to function effectively in a team and service-oriented environment. Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work weekends and evenings, as needed.
- Ability to travel to recruitment events for up to 14 days at a time. Valid driver's license required.
- Advanced cultural competency with an ongoing commitment to growth in the changing language of diversity.
- B.A. or B.S. degree
- Valid California Driver's License
- 4-6 years of relevant experience
Preferred:
- Extensive experience in database management, particularly ACES2/UNITE strongly preferred.
- Previous law school or graduate school admissions experience strongly preferred.
- J.D. degree or relevant M.A./M.S. degree highly preferred.
- J.D. or MA/MS
Special Conditions:
- This position involves considerable travel during the law school recruiting season. A successful candidate must demonstrate a willingness to travel and work some evenings and weekends.
