Staff Accountant
Overview:
Scope of Responsibilities: Works under general supervision. Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals. May orient, train, assign and check the work of entry level and intermediate
Job Summary: To perform accounting tasks and assist with the Asset Mgmt system, work in process, accounting for divisions that are not integrated into our accounting system, prepare journal entries, assist with sales tax reporting and other misc accounting functions.
Responsibilities:
Job Duties:
- Enter Capital Items, fixtures leasehold, buildings and vehicles, into Asset Management system and balance to the ledger
- Coordinate all depreciation and amortization entries
- Assist with work in process reconciliation and move assets when projects have completed
- Assist with all accounting for divisions that are not fully integrated into our accounting system and facilitate all bank reconciliation functions and cash balancing for those divisions
- Prepare journal entries as needed
- Provide back up for bank reconciliations
- Assist with sales tax preparations and reporting as needed
- Complete census bureau questionnaires
- Assist with auditor schedules
- Responsible for completing all mandatory and regulatory training programs
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Educational Requirements:
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
- Preferred: AS Degree or Higher in Accounting, Business Administration or related field
Experience:
- Preferred: 3-5 Years or more of General Ledger/Accounting experience
Special Conditions of Employment:
- Drug Test
- Initial and continuous exclusion and sanction/disciplinary monitoring
Compensation
$22.70/hr - $23.75/hr
The final offer will be determined after careful consideration of multiple factors such as relevant skills, years of experience and education.
