CMM Programmer

The CMM Programmer develops and executes inspection programs for Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to ensure the dimensional accuracy of manufactured parts. This role requires a great understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), metrology principles, and CMM software.

Responsibilities
  • Program Development:
  • Develop and optimize CMM inspection programs using CMM software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso).
  • Create and edit inspection routines, including probe paths, measurement strategies, and data analysis.
  • Utilize CAD models and drawings to create accurate and efficient inspection programs.
  • Program Execution:
  • Execute CMM inspection programs and collect measurement data.
  • Analyze measurement data and generate inspection reports.
  • Identify and report any deviations from specifications.
  • Work with manufacturing personnel to resolve quality issues.
  • Metrology:
  • Apply advanced metrology principles and techniques to solve complex measurement problems.
  • Understand and interpret GD&T symbols and tolerances.
  • Select appropriate measurement methods and probes for specific applications.
