The CMM Programmer develops and executes inspection programs for Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to ensure the dimensional accuracy of manufactured parts. This role requires a great understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), metrology principles, and CMM software.

Responsibilities

Program Development:
Develop and optimize CMM inspection programs using CMM software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso).
Create and edit inspection routines, including probe paths, measurement strategies, and data analysis.
Utilize CAD models and drawings to create accurate and efficient inspection programs.
Program Execution:
Execute CMM inspection programs and collect measurement data.
Analyze measurement data and generate inspection reports.
Identify and report any deviations from specifications.
Work with manufacturing personnel to resolve quality issues.
Metrology:
Apply advanced metrology principles and techniques to solve complex measurement problems.
Understand and interpret GD&T symbols and tolerances.
Select appropriate measurement methods and probes for specific applications.
