Senior Corporate Accounting Manager | PAM Health Corporate

Overview:

Individual will have a strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and financial statement concepts and analysis. Reports to the VP of Accounting.

Responsibilities:

1. Position Responsibilities

• Lead a team of skilled accountants, providing guidance and mentorship.
• Maintains and reviews general ledger activity and reporting completed by the accounting staff for all corporate entities and a portfolio of hospital facilities, while applying GAAP.
• Integral to the preparation of consolidated financial reports.
• Ability to prepare EBITDA and debt compliance calculations.
• Act as key interface for financial audits, and assist in gathering and providing information for auditors.
• Understand and review journal entries entered into the Wellsky ERP system by staff, and has ability to enter manual journal entries as needed.
• Review profit and loss trend reports and various reporting packages which are distributed to administrators of assigned facilities.
• Oversee the reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
• Ensures the proper collection and recording of statistical data for administrative, regulatory and or survey purposes, and assists in their completion as required.
• Makes recommendations related to systems, work flow, efficiencies, or other improvements within the accounting department, and takes ownership of implementation.
• Reviews all staff work product to ensure completeness, accuracy and reasonableness.
• Assist in research and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist the VP of Accounting with accounting close process.
• Has knowledge of and adheres to the organization’s policies, procedures and practices.
• Collaborate with other accounting managers, and assist in achieving the overall goals of the department and business, and provide assistance to others as needed.
• Special projects and corporate assignments as needed.

Qualifications:

Education and Training: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience. CPA a plus.

Experience: 7-10 years of accounting-related experience, with a public accounting background preferred and demonstrated experience in a supervisory role. Healthcare related experience a plus. SOX Compliance experience
