Compensation:

The range displayed reflects the range the company reasonably expects to pay for the position. The actual compensation offered to the selected individual will depend on their relevant education, training, or experience, among other bona fide factors.

Expected Minimum Pay Rate: USD $25.72/Hr.

Expected Maximum Pay Rate: USD $33.43/Hr.

Responsibilities:

The Pharmacy Staffing Coordinator ensures appropriate, timely and cost-effective scheduling and staffing of retail pharmacy departments and assists with administrative duties of the Pharmacy Supervisors and Programs Manager. This role tracks vacation, holiday and leave of absence relief requests and schedules appropriate technician, grad intern and pharmacist coverage.

May schedule Raley’s pharmacists or utilize approved temporary agency personnel.

Collaborates with Talent Acquisition team on recruitment, hiring and onboarding processes for retail store pharmacy candidates and new hires.
  • Participates in weekly meetings to review staffing needs and hiring progress.
  • Runs Verisis Checks for selected pharmacy candidates and notifies store when they are cleared to extend a verbal job offer.
  • Sends online offer letters to selected pharmacy candidates and monitors background and drug testing results.
  • Schedules pharmacy EnterpriseRx training for new hires.
Schedules float team personnel resources to staff existing, potential or scheduled pharmacy retail department positions in coordination (if needed) with the Pharmacy Supervisor or other retail personnel.
  • Develops weekly schedules for float Pharmacists and Technicians and publishes to stores.
  • Reacts to unexpected openings and fills as soon as possible.
  • Understands and uses best judgment to decide on the use of OT or outside services based on pharmacy expected volume and personnel experience.
  • Possesses a working knowledge of union contracts as they relate to scheduling, OT and call-in procedures and priorities.
Contacts float team pharmacists and technicians or petitions existing personnel to work during their time/days off using best practices for least cost. May employ outside agency services.
  • Develops call list or email list of interested parties.
  • Develops outside agency contacts to fill emergency staffing as/if needed.
  • Utilizes knowledge of geographic and commute traffic patterns to mitigate time to location & cost to fill openings.
  • Assists in development of tools or process improvements to stream-line process and/ or control costs.
Gathers and organizes vacation requests, days-off requests, and leaves of absences to fit available personnel.
  • Develops and institutes vacation request process for pharmacists and technicians.
  • Assists in the development and provides on-going administration of policies relating to absence/vacation request handling.
  • Administers the day-to-day execution and records the changes to the master vacation list.
Coordinates the on-boarding of float pool hires.
  • Prepares and processes department documents for new hire float personnel.
Performs administrative support for the float technicians and pharmacists.
  • Tracks 90-day probation periods and sends timely alerts to supervisors/managers.
  • May assist in monitoring training compliance with HIPAA, BBP, CPR, and other documentation.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school Diploma or G.E.D. and a minimum of two or more (2+) years’ experience related to Administrative Assistant, Retail Pharmacy Technician or Clerk, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and general office procedures.
  • Familiarity with Pharmacy operations in a retail or office environment is preferred.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Proficient with office administrative skills in file maintenance, calendaring, tracking requests, and follow through.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize independently and meet service request consistently.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS - Employees may occasionally experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time:

  • Sitting for long periods of time.
  • Telephone use
  • Keyboarding and staring at computer for long periods of time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Work is performed primarily in an office setting.
