Robotics Business Intelligence Engineer, Amazon Robotics

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic data and insights professional with a proven track record of delivering impactful solutions to complex and ambiguous problems. A practiced researcher, who uses data engineering, statistics, systems knowledge, and data visualization to guide decision making for cross-functional leadership teams.

We are seeking a collaborative individual who can think holistically through complex problems to understand how systems work together to identify improvements to robotic architecture or design.

Key job responsibilities

In this role, you will support Amazon's newest robotic technologies through their Alpha, Beta, and General Availability phases of new product and solution development. You will search out new data sources, develop new metrics, create dashboards, write recommendation-focused whitepapers, and develop a deep understanding of robotic systems to inform decisions and support operations customers.

A day in the life

You will collaborate cross-functionally with engineering teams and program managers, and throughout the organization to deliver projects aimed at characterizing and improving the performance of new robotic automation technology in Amazon's network of warehouses.
In this role, you will use a combination of unified and disparate data sources to uncover insights delivered through decision-driving analytics white-papers and automated data visualizations to influence the development and deployment of new robotic technology.

You will collaborate with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Program Managers to define and deliver world class analytics tools and insights to shape the robotic technology landscape.

About the team

The Amazon Robotics Business Intelligence, Analytics, and Data Science team discovers insights in vast and varied robotic data to support decision-making for engineering and operations customer teams. We collaborate with designers, software and hardware engineers, and operations teams to understand system performance, make feature and design trade-offs, and inform decisions on new applications of Amazon Robotics technology.
We conduct relevant, insightful analysis and communicate the results through white papers and data visualizations. Our methods include design of experiments, statistical modeling, machine learning, financial analysis, and data visualization.- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.
experience
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience writing complex SQL queries
  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
