Medical Biller/Collections Specialist

We are offering a great employment opportunity for a Medical Biller/Collections Specialist in the Monmouth County, New Jersey area. This role involves managing medical billing and collections processes in a healthcare setting. The successful candidate will work closely with physicians, insurance carriers, and other medical staff, and will be responsible for filing appeals for denied or underpaid services and maintaining clear documentation.

• Understanding In and Out of Network claims processing and MCO contracts, ERAs and Policy Specific protocols.
• Filing appeals for denied or underpaid services.
• Working effectively with physicians, insurance carriers and other medical staff.
• Keeping clear and cohesive notes, documentations, and forms related to all open and pending claims.
• Exhibiting strong interpersonal skills and building relationships with insurance representatives.
• Managing Accounts Receivable (AR), Appeals, Authorizations, Benefit Functions, and Billing Functions.
• Displaying strong multitasking abilities and balancing competing priorities.
• Ensuring detail-oriented work and accuracy in all tasks.
• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems and Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE)
• Familiarity with EHR SYSTEM and Accounts Receivable (AR) management
• Ability to handle Appeals and Authorizations
• Understanding of Benefit Functions and Billing Functions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Good time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Familiarity with medical billing codes and regulations
• Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required; further education in related fields is a plus.
