Health and Safety Coordinator

The Health, Safety and Environmental Representative is responsible for supporting all health, safety, and environmental initiatives on the location. This position supports a safe working environment for employees while maintaining compliance with safety-related legal requirements and the international organization for standardization (ISO) guidelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with the development, implementation, monitoring, and enforcement of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with company, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), federal, state, and local guidelines.
  • Integrate regulatory requirements and best practices into programs to improve outcomes, and prevent incidents.
  • Create, facilitate, and improve safety training and certifications for forklifts, cranes, Lock-Out/Tag-Out, and other programs as required.
  • Maintain safety and health recordkeeping systems such as safety inspections, observations, and exposure monitoring records.
  • Support all HSE activities to meet the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) guidelines.
  • Assist with accident investigations, including conducting root cause analysis and developing corrective action plans.
  • Utilize a variety of industrial hygiene monitoring, sampling, and analytical equipment and instruments to evaluate chemical and noise exposures, maintain detailed records of sampling activities.
  • Assist in reviewing new machinery, equipment, and plant layout changes to ensure a proactive HSE approach and compliance with all regulations.
  • Ensure appropriate personal protective equipment is available for employees.
  • Keep up to date on current and emerging local, state, and federal HSE guidelines.
EXPERIENCE
  • A minimum of 1-2 year in an environmental Health & Safety (EHS) related field
  • Knowledge of and practical experience in OSHA, EPA, ISO certification, and other compliance requirements- certification desirable but not required. Management System, Auditing, Compliance, Construction, Corrective Action, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Osha Safety
