Payroll Specialist

We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in Santa Clara, California. This role involves handling payroll processes for employees in the U.S. and Canada, ensuring compliance with various regulations, resolving payroll-related issues, and maintaining accurate payroll records.

• Accurately and efficiently process payroll for employees in the U.S. and Canada using specific payroll software
• Review and verify data such as timesheets, employee deductions, bonuses, and overtime calculations
• Manage payroll for different categories of employees, including new hires, those who are leaving, and those on leave of absence
• Accurately calculate and apply tax withholdings and deductions in accordance with federal, state, and local tax jurisdictions in the U.S. and Canada
• Stay informed about payroll laws and regulations in both the U.S. and Canada to ensure full compliance
• Prepare, submit, and manage necessary payroll tax filings, remittances, and reports
• Handle internal and external audits related to payroll
• Promptly respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve any discrepancies
• Maintain accurate records of all payroll-related documentation, including employee pay, benefits, and deductions
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Accounting teams to ensure alignment on payroll processing, tax filings, and reporting
• Assist with year-end payroll activities, such as the preparation and distribution of relevant documentation.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role.
• Experience in using Rippling - Financial Services is a prerequisite.
• Competency in various Payroll Functions is vital.
