Student Service Advisor Senior

Overview:
The Student Services Advisor Senior oversees and supports the advising process for student success, retention, and timely completion of academic goals. This role coordinates student services, mentors' junior advisors, and acts as a liaison between students, faculty, and administrative departments.This role reports to the Director of Student Affairs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert academic advising to students on degree requirements, course selection, career planning, and college policies.
- Direct assistance for students in obtaining information, contact and resolution in the areas of: childcare, transportation, financial advisement, protective and legal aid series, and effective study/tutoring services.
- Develop and implement student support programs that achieve retention and academic success by monitoring student performance, analyzing problem areas, recommending solution, and conducting intervention activities and processes.
- Develop and oversee campus activities to foster the development of student community.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for complex student concerns, including academic performance, personal challenges, and policy appeals.
- Coordinate orientation programs and workshops on academic and personal development.
- Mentor and train junior advisors to maintain high standards in student support services.
- Collaborate with faculty and administrative staff to address student needs and streamline academic processes.
- Achieve the budgeted retention and re-entry goals for the campus.
- Analyze data to assess the effectiveness of student services initiatives and recommend improvements.
- Provide regular activity reports and audit reports to the DSA and other designated managers.
- Maintain knowledge of institutional policies, course catalog, accreditation standards, and best practices in higher education advising.
- Maintain compliance with FERPA and other regulatory requirements in all student interactions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education / Experience- Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Student Services (required)
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience with conflict resolution and/or student recruitment (preferred)
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking the English language (required)
- Proficient in working with department budgets and cost controls
- Familiarity with higher education trends and best practices in student advising
- Knowledgeable about program development and implementation
- Occasionally Lift up to 15lbs
- Occasionally push/pull up to 15lbs

- Safely ambulate and/or maneuver when on-site at Company locations

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information with discretion
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are essential and multiple projects are worked simultaneously

- Ability to foster long-term relationships with stakeholders
- Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment when on site at assigned company location. Employees must be able to safely ambulate when on company premises.

- Onsite; Work environments may include exposure to student learning environments with a variety of conditions. Employees must be able to follow all safety precautions including the use of personal-protective equipment. Employees must also be able to adhere to site-specific safety procedures.
