Data Specialist / Sales Support

We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Data Specialist/Sales Support located in Center Moriches, New York. This position plays a critical role in our manufacturing industry setting, where the individual will be primarily responsible for analyzing sales forecasts, maintaining customer records, entering data, and supporting sales activities.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze current year's sales to forecast future requirements
• Enter and manage data effectively, ensuring information accuracy
• Actively participate in reactive sales activities by responding to incoming orders via call, email, or text to clarify and process orders
• Utilize Excel for order entry and submission to designated email lists
• Handle phone calls, both direct and through the main line, to facilitate smooth communication
• Apply PowerPoint skills to create and present reports or data visually
• Enter and manage sales orders using relevant software such as Great Plains and SalesPad
• Ensure customer inquiries are resolved promptly and efficiently
• Monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions based on account status. • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience in a similar role
• Proven experience in administrative assistance within a manufacturing setting
• Proficiency in data analysis and management, with the ability to interpret and present data clearly
• Excellent knowledge of sales support practices and principles
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data handling
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Familiarity with CRM systems and practices would be advantageous.
