Mind Your Business, Inc. is a government contractor looking for a Human Resources Specialist to join our client's team in Washington, DC. The Human Resources Specialist will be responsible for the recruitment and retention of employees, development of employee relations and relationships, and the overall management of human resources needs.

Additionally, this position supports the diversity, equity, and inclusion division.

Duties:

  • Provide expert technical advice, guidance, and consultation in the areas of position classification, recruitment and placement, and personnel and payroll processing
  • Responsible for executing tasks and activities from initiation to completion to support the development and or implementation of the DEIA, Equity, and Civil Rights Plans for the agency
  • Assist to organize documents and manage databases for tracking project information
  • Ability to contribute to the ideation and creation and innovation of DEIA/Equity and Civil Rights Project concepts
  • Ability to organize and tailor pertinent information that aligns with the assigned tasks and activities
  • Develop and manage project schedules and milestone lists
  • Supports the creation and development of internal and external events schedules
  • Manage communications with key stakeholders by ensuring information is allocated to the appropriate offices

Qualifications:

  • Professional Skills: At least five-years of Federal human resources experience. · Strong knowledge and understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility principles and practices. Strong knowledge and understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility principles and practices. Experience in developing and implementing DEIA initiatives and strategies. Proficiency in conducting research, data analysis, and assessment of organizational diversity and inclusion efforts. Ability to identify and address systemic barriers and biases within an organization. Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders, build relationships, and foster a culture of inclusivity. Experience in conducting training sessions and workshops on DEI topics. Ability to facilitate difficult conversations and address conflicts related to diversity and inclusion. Familiarity with relevant federal laws, regulations, and policies related to civil rights and equal opportunity. Ability to create, construct and complete written documents effectively. Ability to demonstrate in-depth research for data and information across multiple sources.
  • Language Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver information to various audiences. Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and concepts related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, project statuses, and related information. Proficiency in drafting reports, documents, and other written materials for diverse audiences. Strong presentation skills to support training sessions and facilitate discussions.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for creating and editing documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and emails. Experience using project management software to track progress, manage tasks, and collaborate with team members. Familiarity with data analysis tools and software for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting diversity, equity, and inclusion data. Knowledge of online collaboration tools and platforms for virtual meetings and communication. Understanding of social media platforms and their effective use for promoting diversity and inclusion initiatives.
