Vice President - Health & Wellness
In 2018, the former Western Dairy Association – representing farmers across Colorado, Wyoming and Montana since 1936 – became part of the Dairy MAX family. In 2019, Dairy MAX and the Louisiana Dairy Industry Promotion Board confirmed a partnership to engage in dairy promotion in Louisiana together.
Serving as an integral member of the executive leadership team, the Vice President Health and Wellness (HW) is responsible for driving dairy sales and trust in dairy by reinforcing dairy's nutrition benefits with critical audiences including health thought leaders, nutrition influencers, dairy brands, and processors both domestically and in export Market.This role oversees all daily operations of the HW team, plays an integral role in organizational strategic planning, leads departmental strategic planning, and is responsible for the execution of strategic initiatives and measurement of progress to achieving established organizational goals.
Requirements
As a part of the Dairy MAX Leadership Team, develop the organizational strategic plan to guide Dairy MAX efforts to achieve goals set forth in the Unified Marketing Plan (UMP) and reinforce the Dairy MAX culture.
Provide vision and leadership for the HW department; develop strategies and initiatives to achieve organization and team goals; track and measure the progress of programs and teammates- ·Build, inspire, and manage a high-performing team that works collaboratively across the organization, as appropriate
- ·Establish and communicate job responsibilities, priorities and expectations for HW team members to ensure mutual understanding of desired results
- Working with director, assess employee performance, assist team members with developing Individual Development Plans (IDP), provide constructive feedback and development opportunities that will assist them in achieving improved job performance and/or career objectives
- ·Partner with Business Development, Communications, and School Marketing to support new product development, product promotion, and increase product demand in key markets (domestic and international) based on nutrition benefits
- ·Build and strengthen relationships with partners and other key stakeholders including thought leaders, influencers, health professionals, academics, and industry partners to increase advocacy for dairy and ensure dairy remains a critical component in a healthy diet
- ·Report out on projects and results to the board of directors and partner with Industry Image and Relations to appropriately integrate farmers into the work of the department and provide regular updates to farmers
- ·Serve as the nutrition and community health expert and resource for Dairy MAX; remain current on science, market and industry issues and trends and support strategic work in other depts as needed
- ·Serve as liaison to Dairy Management Inc. (DMI) to execute the national strategy for health and nutrition initiatives; lead or participate in related federation meetings representing Dairy MAX
- ·Oversee engagement with outside partner agencies for development of marketing materials, campaigns and communications to promote dairy consumption
- ·Responsible for tracking and reporting results, trends, and opportunities to Dairy MAX management and Board of Directors
- ·Collaborate with appropriate HW team members and agency personnel in creating accurate budget projections
- ·Monitor and manage within the specified program area budget, approving estimates and invoices as necessary and reconcile program costs against budget for appropriate budget accounts monthly
- ·Work with team and vendors to manage/mitigate third party costs for maximum benefit to the organization
