Our client, a prominent AmLaw 50 law firm with a robust Intellectual Property practice, seeks a highly skilled medicinal/pharmaceutical chemistry Patent Specialist or Patent Agent to join their IP Patents Group in Raleigh(link removed) This is an exciting opportunity to work with a collaborative team of lawyers and patent agents, each with advanced degrees in life sciences.
Candidate Profile:
- Ph.D. in medicinal chemistry, organic chemistry, or a closely related discipline(link removed)>
- Admission to the USPTO is preferred, but not required.
- Strong technical, writing, and organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Recent graduates with relevant academic backgrounds and technical expertise are welcome to apply.
- Previous experience in patent law is not required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with inventors to identify and document innovative technologies.
- Draft and prosecute patent applications related to medicinal and pharmaceutical chemistry.
- Coordinate the prosecution of patent applications in multiple jurisdictions.
- Conduct prior art searches to assess the patentability of inventions.
- Prepare detailed reports and support documentation for managing patent portfolios.
- Engage with clients to deliver strategic patent advice tailored to their specific needs.
