Job Purpose: The Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to oversee kitchen operations, ensuring high standards in food preparation, presentation, and consistency. This role requires strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience in upscale dining, a passion for culinary excellence, and the ability to mentor and develop kitchen staff.

Job Summary (Essential Functions):

  • Assist the Executive Chef in all aspects of kitchen management, including menu planning, food preparation, and service execution.
  • Maintain consistency and quality in all dishes, ensuring they meet club standards.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Monitor food inventory and work with the Executive Chef to manage ordering and cost controls.
  • Contribute creative ideas for seasonal menu changes and special events.
  • Lead by example with professionalism, work ethic, and attention to detail.
  • Ensure smooth kitchen operations, even in the absence of the Executive Chef.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of culinary experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in high-volume, upscale dining, private clubs, or fine dining establishments.
  • Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, kitchen operations, and food safety protocols.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor a team with a positive and professional approach.
  • Excellent time management, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Culinary degree or certification from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety training.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time. This position requires standing, walking, lifting, bending, stooping, squatting and minimal/no sitting time. Frequent work in very warm environments.

Pay Rate: This is a salaried position ranging from $90,000 - $100,000 annually. Varies based on experience.
