Job Description

The responsibilities of the Manufacturing Automation Engineer include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the design and production of automated systems for manufacturing high-performance, thin thermoplastic materials.
  • Drive the research and development of innovative automation solutions.
  • Manage capital equipment projects, including justification, equipment selection or design, procurement, and implementation.
  • Enhance manufacturing processes by integrating advanced technology and custom automation, focusing on safety, quality, cost reduction, and throughput improvement, while meeting product design requirements.
  • Assemble, test, and troubleshoot automated equipment and systems in manufacturing environments.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Manufacturing Automation Engineer will possess these qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in an Engineering or Engineering Technology field
  • Preferred background in Robotics or Mechanical Engineering, though other engineering disciplines will be considered
  • 3+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • Expertise in manufacturing automation
  • Familiarity with materials and equipment for plastic part fabrication
  • Strong knowledge of machine design, basic electrical design, and standard manufacturing practices
