Experimental Parts Procurement (Contract) - John Deere Works, Ankeny

Position Overview:

You’ll work hands-on with advanced systems like SAP, CREO, and AutoCAD, while contributing to the production of cutting-edge equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and refine manufacturing routings and laser operation programs.
• Review and interpret part prints for production.
• Monitor and manage production and forecasted inventories.
• Facilitate the transfer of stock between departments, ensuring seamless material flow.
• Liaise with supply management on part availability and stock levels.
• Update and maintain daily and weekly reports using Excel and other MS Office tools.
• Occasionally design and model simple parts for the shop floor.
• Provide troubleshooting support for part requests, laser programs, and manufacturing routings.

Qualifications:

• Education: 2-year degree in Pre-Engineering, Manufacturing/Engineering Tech, Computer-Aided Drafting, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience: Hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel), strong organizational and communication skills, and attention to detail in data analysis. Ability to read and interpret 2D drawings/prints.
• Technical Expertise: Experience with CREO and AutoCAD is required. Ideal expertise in SAP and PowerBI.
• Inventory Management experience would be helpful in this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 4-year degree.
• Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of sheet metal and fabrication processes.
• Strong computer proficiency.
