We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Machine Operator. This role is based in our facility in Lynchburg, Virginia, and reports to the Production Supervisor. The work schedule is a 12 hour day shift from 7am until 7pm on a 2-2-3 continental schedule.
Job Summary
We are seeking an upbeat individual who will be responsible to ensures that the final product aligns with the company's quality standards which includes the reliability, usability, and performance of the product. In general, these meticulous professionals are accountable for using tools to perform checks to ensure quality standards are met and the equipment is running accurately!
Requirements
Principal Responsibilities- Carry out production, inspection, packaging, and machine operation duties.
- Efficiently supervise production equipment.
- Perform quality control checks, follow reporting and recordkeeping procedures, and report problems to supervisor.
- Perform quality checks using micrometers, calibers, and tape measures.
- Package pipe in accurate pallet sizes and quantities and document production.
- Use basic hand tools and operate forklift.
- Identify, transfer, and load material for production.
- Inspect and report potential unsafe or hazardous conditions.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment while adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
- Must be eager to learn, excited to work on a team, and have good written and verbal communication skills.
- Other duties as the need arises and/or assigned.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must be knowledgeable in measurement systems and basic math.
- Experience operating a forklift is considered an asset.
- Detail oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be a self-starter with good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills coupled with an eagerness to learn.
- Good team player including with a demonstrated ability to contribute to and foster a positive team environment.
- Experience with the use of basic hand tools.
- Requires good mobility and involves considerable routine walking, standing for long periods, bending, stooping, and lifting (to a maximum of 80 lbs).
- Must be able to perform job responsibilities safely in a manufacturing environment.
