Position: Director of Sales Strategy
Location: Remote (within the contiguous US)
Overview: A dynamic power electronics company is on the lookout for a Director of Sales Strategy to spearhead our national sales initiatives. This remote role, reporting directly to the President, involves building strong customer relationships, driving revenue growth, crafting strategic plans, and nurturing the sales team's professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a sales team of 3-4 members.
- Set and achieve sales targets, and develop plans for sustained growth.
- Participate in strategic meetings to support sales and product planning.
- Ensure timely qualification and response to leads.
- Guide the team in identifying customer technical needs, recommending products, responding to RFQs, and supporting proposal preparations and negotiations.
- Follow up on existing opportunities.
- Utilize CRM software to track sales activities, generate reports, and maintain customer engagement.
- Represent the company at industry events and trade shows.
- Conduct on-site customer visits across the US.
- Analyze market trends, competitors, and emerging technologies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 7 years of successful B2B sales/business development experience with related products, including at least 3 years in the defense sector.
- Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proficiency in CRM systems for lead tracking, quoting, reporting, and team collaboration.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to convey technical details to customers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience in developing real-time sales-related business intelligence tools.
- High ethical standards, including honesty, dependability, and the ability to handle pressure.
- Strong conflict resolution, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Willingness to travel domestically (~25%).
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7 years of experience selling to defense contractors or directly to the DoD.
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Knowledge of defense industry practices, contract regulations, and engineering standards (e.g., MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704).
- Understanding of electronics design, development, and manufacturing.
- Familiarity with power converters and related specifications.
- Eligibility to obtain US security clearance (with company sponsorship).
