Ophthalmic Technician/Scribe

Position Summary:
We are actively recruiting for an Ophthalmic Scribe to join our growing team at North Georgia Eye Associates

Responsibilities:
- This position requires customer service skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a degree of independent decision-making.
Ophthalmic skills include:
- Obtaining and documenting patient history
- Determining visual acuity
- Administering eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions to the eye as ordered by physician
- Performing office duties and clinical tasks - entering data into EMR, inputting exam information into EMR for the physician
- Assisting with certain in office procedures
- Providing patient services
- Maintaining equipment and instruments
Performed other duties as assigned:

- The ability to recognize inconsistencies in test results
- The ability to seek advice from others when accuracy is uncertain, and findings are inconsistent
- Understanding that dependent upon need there may be instances where he/she is asked to travel to satellite offices
Qualifications:
- Must be flexible with regards to shift ( as hours may vary and are dictated by clinic needs).
- Graduation from an accredited high school
- 3 to 5 years of Ophthalmology experience preferred but not required. Will train the right candidate. Previous medical field experience a plus.
- Dependable transportation required to travel to other offices as required (Must be willing to work out of Cumming, Dacula and Gainesville offices)
