Please understand when applying: This is a driving position with a small business doing nationwide deliveries.
The job requires being on the road for long periods of time, often a week or more without returning home.The job is physically and mentally demanding. Each shipment is different, and the demands of the job can be extremely varied.
We do not do commercial shipping. Each delivery is arranged directly with the sender or recipient. Drivers do not need to find or coordinate deliveries. The responsibility of the driver is to pick up, safely transport, and drop off each item.
The vehicles provided by the company are pick up trucks and vans, often paired with a trailer.Pay is based on a profit sharing model. It can range greatly, from $600 in a week to $1500 plus in a week. It is important to be able to budget for fluctuating income, and to not be overly excited about high paying weeks nor overly discouraged about low paying ones.
The business pays for fuel while on the road, vehicle maintenance, insurance, and all other vehicle related expenses. Drivers must cover their own personal expenses while on the road.Company vehicles are set up to sleep in while on the road. If the driver wishes to sleep at a hotel or similar, this is at the driver’s expense.
Drivers may supply their own vehicle, and those who supply their own vehicle receive significantly higher pay but must also cover all of their own vehicle expenses, including fuel.
Applicants are not required to have experience in a related field. However, you should have experience with and be comfortable driving a large vehicle such as a pick up truck or van, and pulling a moderate sized trailer.
Applicants must provide professional references and should be local to the Battle Creek, Michigan Michigan area or willing to relocate/be on the road continuously.
Vehicles must be returned at any time when the driver is not actively fulfilling deliveries.
Drivers bringing their own vehicle to the job may apply nationwide.
