Your Role

The Payroll Manager is responsible for ensuring the execution of payroll processes within the HCM/Oracle Cloud and Kronos Workforce Dimensions payroll systems in compliance with all laws, funds are distributed on time, and SOX and operational control audits are completed.

Key responsibilities will include: developing procedures, controlling and supervising the preparation, documentation, and disbursement of all payroll related activities; providing guidance to a team of Payroll Assoc. Analysts, Analysts and Supervisor, leading projects, and providing technical and analytical support to routine processes as well as ad-hoc payroll activities and issue remediation.

Your Impact
  • Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Review, update and sign off on accounting principles in compliance with internal SOX, Anti-Corruption and Operational Controls for (1) payment accuracy (2) audit for completion and (3) approval through the delegations of authority
  • Provide formal and informal coaching in “real time,” assess performance against metrics, deliver performance reviews and customize development plans for direct reports
  • Identify irregularities and variances against audit and controls criterion, identify patterns and collaborate on a solution.
  • Provide leadership in the execution of the bi-weekly and daily payroll processes
  • Identify opportunities in system and operational processes and bring recommendations for efficiencies
  • Develop and implement plans regarding coordination of various systems and teams
  • Lead projects and implementing company initiatives
  • Partner with various Business leaders as subject matter expert regarding Payroll Operations related issues
  • Develop presentations and metrics to engage in cross-functional partnerships to deliver optimal results and influence change
  • Provide leadership to the team in supporting ad hoc requests including special routing or handling
  • Partner with payroll vendors (Oracle, UKG, ADP) on service inquiries, invoices, ad hoc requests, and testing
  • Manage day to day issues relating to processing of payroll
  • Proactively and consistently identify opportunities for improvement to drive efficiencies in process and procedures in a controlled environment
  • Motivate and inspire the team to drive high performance
  • Work with the shared service human resources center (HR Direct) and information technology teams to provide functional support involving the HCM/Oracle Cloud and Kronos Workforce Dimensions payroll systems
  • Lead testing and implementation of HCM/Oracle Cloud and Kronos Workforce Dimensions system updates with the Data Governance and information technology HRMS team
  • Maintain an open-door environment and research and resolve associate relations issues as needed

Minimum Salary: $107,000.00

Maximum Salary: $145,950.00

VS&Co provides a range of compensation for this role as shown. Your actual salary will be determined by a number of factors, including: your specific skills and experience, geographic region, or other relevant factors.

Qualifications
Your Experience
  • Strong knowledge and application of Payroll laws including garnishments for United States, Puerto Rico and Canada
  • Proven ability to lead a team of 5+ associates, manage projects and delegate to others
  • High attention to detail, executes for results, analytical and curious mindset
  • Ability to execute tasks in a thorough, composed, accurate and timely fashion while managing multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with multiple systems
  • Ability to present recommendations based on analysis and take lead on implementing changes
  • Communicates in a highly effective manner (verbal and written), interpreting complex information and thoughtfully expressing their viewpoint, analysis or conclusions
  • Cross-functional team player with the ability to guide and inspire others
  • Conducts all work in an ethical, honest, professional and confidential manner
  • Self-motivated, self-starting and a creative thinker
  • Proven ability to identify and implement continuous improvement / process improvement initiatives
  • Ability and willingness to take on additional responsibilities
Additional Preferred Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Accounting, Finance, Economics or comparative degree preferred
  • 8+ years’ experience in payroll processing, accounts payable or other related experience required
  • 4+ years’ experience in supervising others, required
  • Proven work experience managing multi-state payroll preferred
  • Previous experience in a customer service center environment, preferred
  • Previous experience with HCM/Oracle Cloud and Kronos Workforce Dimensions, preferred
  • Strong PC skills. Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Word
  • Experience in a retail environment, a plus
