Staff Accountant

We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our manufacturing client based in a quaint town just North of Indianapolis. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in all General Ledger activities through month-end close and related analyses.
Responsibilities include but aren't limited to:
- Take charge of general accounting functions such as journal entries, account reconciliations, etc.
- Assist in other areas of accounting and finance such Budgeting/Forecasting, Inventory Accounting and Fixed Asset Accounting.
- Participate in costing activities in production and inventory management.
- Actively participate in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process.
- Support external audit activities.
- Keep abreast of acceptable accounting practices and procedures to ensure the organization's compliance.
This role requires a basic understanding of bank reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, journal entries, month-end close, fixed asset accounting, inventory accounting, cost accounting, budgeting, reconciliations, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- 1-2+ years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar within the manufacturing industry
- Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries and Month End Close
- Experience in Fixed Asset Accounting, Fixed Assets, Inventory Accounting, Inventory Analysis, and Inventory Audits
- Knowledge of Cost Accounting and Budgeting
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Familiarity with accounting software and systems
