Responsibilities:
Full time Day Shift
The primary role of the Treatment Advocate Lead is providing direct and support services to female or male drug and alcohol abusers. Specifically, the two main functions of the Treatment Advocates are 1) supervision of the clients, and 2) ensuring their participation in treatment related services and facilitating psycho-educational and recreational activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise Treatment Advocates for specific shift
- Assists in supervision of client activities and be aware of client safety and whereabouts at all times, including breaks and internal activities
- Attend all mandatory trainings and in-house conferences/seminars as directed by supervisor
- Engages clients in therapeutic activities as appropriate
- Provides a brief overview of the housing program in regard to program rules, procedures, and services; with each new client
- Maintains order and ensures compliance with rules and regulations; ensures that clients conduct themselves in an orderly manner
- Monitors and document’s clients for signs of medical distress and/or behavioral concerns on an ongoing basis and through routine bed checks
- Provides appropriate support and structure for clients in dealing with their recovery; interacts continually with clients
- Ensures client wake-up and bedtime, escorts residents on shopping trips, recreation, meetings, medical appointments, etc
- Enforces program rules at all times
- Distributes daily mail to clients and observes confidentiality standards
- Records accurate and up-to-date reports on every client and continually updates the bed list(s) to ensure that all admissions and discharges are recorded in a timely fashion
- Reports to the supervisor/manager any discrepancies in client's whereabouts
- Responds appropriately to all medical and other emergencies
- BHT’s are responsible for safe operation of Company vehicles
- Conducts search of all client bags when being admitted to the facility. Confiscates and secures any contraband found, and notifies the appropriate manager/ supervisor
- Randomly inspects all rooms, common areas, hallways and bathrooms every thirty minutes and performs a thorough search for contraband, no less than weekly
- Continually updates Bed List ensuring all admissions and discharges are recorded timely
- Facilitates group psycho-education classes as directed by supervisor
- Conducts search of client bags when being admitted to the facility
- Ensure shift reports are thorough and completed for shift worked
- Ensure proper timekeeping of staff
- Responsible and accountable for managing direct reports
- Preparation and presentation of performance evaluations
- Provides objective feedback to employees
- Makes appropriate compensation recommendations, if applicable
- Provides appropriate training for department and hold staff accountable for attending required training
- Holds interviews for vacant positions and makes appropriately selects candidates to fill open positions
- Responsible for recommending and ensuring regulatory staffing patterns & managing annual budget
- Monitors adherence to company and department policies, procedures and practices
- Creates and supports a positive, professional, team-oriented, harassment free work environment by understanding and complying with the company’s policies

Qualifications:
- Associates degree required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Behavioral Sciences (social sciences, human services, counseling or psychology)
- State recognized (IC&RC) alcohol and drug certification (or within six months of completing certification) required
- 2+years experience working with substance abuse clients
- Age 25, required by insurance carrier (if driving clients)
- Must have an acceptable MVR and be willing to gain a Class B license (if driving clients)
- Customer service driven with a genuine interest in the well-being of those we serve
- Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; and participates in meetings.
- Working knowledge of Google Office Products.
- Must be able to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours.
