Senior Accountant

The successful candidate for this role will have excellent leadership abilities, sharp analytical skills, command of the month end process, excellent time management experience, and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently handle all aspects of operational accounting, including financial close, cash management, budgeting, financial planning & analysis, and reconciling receivables between the operational system and QuickBooks
• Utilize QuickBooks and data from our proprietary operating system to assist with the monthly close
• Collaborate with all departments within the organization to optimize established personnel and technology resources for process improvements
• Conduct monthly reconciliations as part of the regular close process
• Carry out operational tasks such as processing refunds, cutting checks, and batching premiums
• Adjust budgets and forecasts to reflect changes in the business
• Develop processes that are scalable and can accommodate the company’s growth aspirations
• Prepare comprehensive financial reporting packages.

The ideal Senior Accountant will have a Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.

Other requirements for the Senior Accountant role include and are not limited to:

• 2-5 years of public, public/private or all private accounting experience
• Experience with QuickBooks a big plus, not a must
• Insurance industry experience a big plus
• Strong communication skills
