$22-$25 per hour
Responsibilities:
The Automation Technician is respsible for assembling and testing electromechanical equipment and fully automated production cells per Solidworks models and drawings, BOMs, schematics, and work orders. Must be an excellent troubleshooter and enjoy working closely with other manufacturing and engineering staff to produce high quality equipment per the customer’s requirements and schedule.

- Follow schematics, drawings and written procedures to assemble equipment to specifications including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical assemblies.
- Startup of newly built equipment including high voltage connections, software installation, component setup and calibration.
- Follow quality control checklists to confirm machine operation.
- Use shop machine functional testing manuals for MPI interface procedures.
- Work closely with Automation engineering to resolve manufacturing related problems.
- Operate forklift for material transport, upon completion of MPI training. (optional)
- Operate chain hoists and lift tables, upon completion of MPI training.
- This position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness of work area.
- Supports MPI lean culture and initiatives by attending and participating in daily lean meetings while supporting efforts to make continuous improvements throughout MPI.
- Follow all Personal Protection Program guidelines.
- Compliance of all OSHA and MPI Safety Procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
- Sound understanding of electrical fundamentals, PLC’s, hydraulics, pneumatics, and the ability to read and interpret schematics, ability to comprehend circuits and components.
- Above average computer skills and recent experience with ERP system.
- Advanced skill level and ability to perform technical trouble shooting and diagnostics of mechanical and electrical PLC, hydraulic and pneumatic components and control mechanisms.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- US citizenship or Green Card required to work on ITAR controlled projects.
- Education / Experience: 2 years of college or technical school with 7 years’ experience, or 7 – 10 years of related experience and training. 5 years’ experience Mechanical experience in assembly or repair.
