Manufacturing Engineer Intern - Minneapolis
Support assigned Manufacturing Engineering activities as directed by the manufacturing engineering Supervisor and designated manufacturing engineers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide support to manufacturing engineering personnel as assigned.
- Work effectively as a team member to ensure operational metrics are achieved and any remedial action is actively pursued.
- Maintain current updates on manufacturing engineering related tasks on manufacturing cell log.
- Design or specify any equipment/tooling/racking required to support manufacturing.
- Ensure default locators to all parts within assigned manufacturing cells.
- Update and maintain layouts (plant & cell layouts and inventory, housekeeping, emergency, & security maps etc.)
- Help update standard work instructions and assist with training as assigned.
- Help facilitate lean manufacturing initiatives (5S, value stream mapping, set-up reduction etc.)
- Participate in continuous improvement and teamwork.
- Conduct process observations to ensure that assigned time standards are fair and consistent.
- Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) meetings as assigned, to assist with the disposition of non-conforming materials.
Requirements
Education
Intern- Engaged in 4- year engineering degree program
Experience/Knowledge
Organized, punctual, young professional
Clear concise written and verbal communication skills
Equipment/Machines Used
Computer, measuring instruments
Specific Job Skills
Auto Cad or UniGraphics, Microsoft Office
