3rd Shift MAINTENANCE MECHANIC I

As a standalone business, Vybond is poised to strengthen its leadership in pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes, delivering innovative solutions to industrial and specialty markets worldwide.Headquartered in Franklin, KY, with facilities in Riverhead, NY, and Bristol, RI, Vybond Group, Inc. manufactures specialty foil, film, and duct tapes and adhesives. With over 1,500 specialty SKUs spanning 500+ product families, Vybond serves 1,500+ customers across the HVAC, building and construction, industrial, retail, medical, aerospace, automotive, and other specialty industries.
Shift: 3rd shift
Responsibilities:
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, Mechanic’s primary functions are to install, troubleshoot, repair, erect, dismantle, assemble and maintain all plant equipment, machinery and structures.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This individual must perform simple welding, cutting and brazing jobs with minimum supervision.
- Repair and fabricate simple replacement parts.
- Perform simple repairs on water, air, steam, and gas pipes.
- Lock and tag electrical equipment before running any tests.
- Take voltmeter and amp probe readings.
- Check and replace fuses, switches, and receptacles.
- Repair fluorescent fixtures.
- Learn flame safety control systems on ovens, incinerator, and boiler.
- Calibrate tension rolls.
- Check batteries and chargers.
- Locate and cut power on main breaker panels.
- Drain and change oil in gear boxes and PIV’s on production, slitting and material handling equipment.
- Drain oil and change separator on compressors.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- The Maintenance Mechanic must be able to understand and follow written and oral directions in English.
- The individual must have a strong mechanical aptitude and maintenance training.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
- He/she must be capable of performing heavy manual labor such as climbing, crawling, lifting, and carrying.
- The individual is required to work a minimum of 5 days a week including Saturdays as scheduled.
- Assignments may be indoors, or outdoors.
- Appropriate protective equipment including safety glasses and steel-toed shoes must be worn
Compensation: $28 to $32/hr plus Night Shift Differential
