Purpose
The Warehouse Worker is responsible for performing accurate storing, shipping, and receiving of product to meet company quality, safety, security, and productivity standards.
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties:- Use radio frequently or picking, receiving, and storing function, as required.
- Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
- Operate product handling equipment safely and efficiently while loading and unloading freight.
- Perform labeling, sorting, and re-packing as needed.
- Perform inventory procedures accurately and with the utmost integrity.
- General business support function as assigned.
- Ships and receives cargo according to the applicable regulatory and or voluntary association’s requirements: TSA, C-TPAT and or TAPA.
- Performs product selection and package preparation for shipment.
- Assists with pallet and cargo preparation.
- Cleans facility and/or trash compactor.
Any percentages are approximate and may vary based upon the specific job requirements at each location.
Minimum Requirements:- Basic knowledge of routine clerical methods and office practices and procedures as they related to the clerical processing and recording of transactions and accounting information.
- Relative computer knowledge and skills.
At NEU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of routine warehouse practices and procedures
- This position will interact with all levels of employees at the branch, including colleagues, leadership staff, and office personnel.
- This position requires physical demands to include, but not limited to standing, walking, sitting, bending, twisting, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing, and carrying heavy objects repeatedly.
- Warehouse environment may be noisy and subject to varying temperatures.
- Will work alongside drivers who are moving pallets on different types of forklifts.
