Job Description: Job Summary

The Department Planning Consultant invests in the future of Southwest by supporting the productivity of the AI and Data Transformation Department by contributing to the execution of effective strategies that manage the operations and processes of the Department.This role will support budget forecasting and resource allocation efforts, ensuring alignment between workforce expenditures and departmental financial goals to optimize cost-effectiveness while meeting staffing and development needs. The Department Planning Consultant is an innovative problem-solver, who is excited about the opportunity to drive the future of Southwest Airlines .

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work onsite on our Corporate Campus at least three days a week.
The Department designates the specific three days of the week Employees must work on-site.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with Department Leaders to create presentations and communication materials that clearly articulate department initiatives and updates to both internal and external audiencesSupport org-related programs and proactively identify new opportunities that drive improvement to the operational health of the department
Partner and work effectively across departments and with all levels of management to develop and implement department planning initiatives
Prepare and deliver presentations to diverse stakeholders, including leadership, team members, and cross-functional partners, ensuring clarity and impact in communication
Support content creation for various mediums, such as reports, leadership briefs, blog posts, and internal communications, with a focus on consistency and effectiveness
Contribute to the planning and coordination of events, workshops, and meetings that engage and inform department stakeholders, enhancing department collaboration and knowledge sharing
Monitor department performance indicators and assist in the development of action plans to drive improvement in operational efficiency and customer satisfaction
Collaborate with teams to monitor and optimize departmental spending for cost-effective operations
Provide insights for financial decision-making based on thorough budget performance analysis

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Skilled in effective presentation and communication with the ability to engage and influence diverse audiences
Ability to create clear, concise, and effective communication materials, including Power Point presentations, reports, and talking pointsAbility to collaborate across functional areas to support strategic initiatives and ensure alignment with overall company objectives
Knowledge of basic data analysis and metrics to support departmental reporting and decision-making
Ability to manage time effectively, balancing multiple priorities while meeting deadline
Ability to build strong relationships and foster collaboration within a team and across the organization Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED
ExperienceAdvanced level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in: Building and growing a new capability including driving and managing change
Creating and delivering impactful presentations to leadership and cross-functional teamsPlanning and delivering Organization health initiatives
Monitoring performance metrics and recommending action plans for improvement.
Preferred: Experience with budgeting, communication planning, and/or employee experience. Experience planning career progressions or paths.Preferred: Experience with Share Point , Power Point , Excel, Teams, Quick Base .

Physical Abilities
Ability to perform work duties from [limited space workstation/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
Must be at least 18 years of age

Pay & Benefits:Competitive market salary from $97,750 per year to $108,600 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
