Overview:

The Community Living Specialist assists the team in building and implementing a total program responsive to the interests and needs of the

Beacon Specialized Living serves individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental health needs. By supporting their self-directed goals with compassion and best practices, Beacon provides the highest level of support — not only meeting their needs, but helping people live their fullest lives.

We are seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team! You will assist in the daily care of disabled individuals.

Responsibilities:

- Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities or special needs
Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
Administer medications and monitor health conditions
Implement behavior management strategies and provide emotional support
Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding
Support individuals in participating in recreational activities and community outings
Document individual progress and report any concerns or incidents to the supervisor

Qualifications:

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Minimum High School Diploma/GED
Experience working with individuals with autism, hospice care, or senior care is a plus
1-year experience working with developmentally disabled individuals
Computer literacy using Microsoft Word; familiarity with an electronic health record system preferred
Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies
Ability to lift and transfer individuals as needed
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals, families, and other team members
Understanding of resident rights and ability to advocate for individual needs
Must be 18 years of age or older

Pay Range: USD $19.80 - USD $19.80 /Hr.

Shift and Schedule: 1 - 1st Shift, 4 - 2nd Shift, 5 - 3rd Shift

Schedule: 9:00AM - 3:00PM; 3:00PM - 11:00PM; 11:00PM - 9:00AM
