Summary of Duties: Be part of the Risk and Finance Advisory team at SAS that helps banks and other institutions with financial exposure quantify and manage financial risk in their organization. Provide advisory and technical services on implementation of risk solutions and work closely with team members to assess clients’ business needs relative to the deployment, customization, and implementation of SAS risk solutions.
Advise and support clients on data provisioning, analytics, and reporting frameworks. Representative engagements include regulatory capital stress testing and assessment (CCAR/DFAST, Basel II/III), loss reserving (ALLL/IFRS9/CECL) economic capital analysis, PD/LGD/EAD modeling, PPNR/ALLL forecasting, and Balance Sheet forecasting, among others.
Interact with clients to help solve their business problems. Assist the Risk and Finance Advisory team with its responsibilities in presales and proof of concept efforts, implementation training and enablement of SAS consultants and partners globally, service estimates, product content creation, and advisory services.
Design and technically deliver SAS Risk Solutions. Demonstrate analytical leadership in delivering SAS Risk and Finance solutions and implementations to customers within an agile project delivery framework. Create relationships with SAS customers as a trusted advisor and partner.
Interact with clients to assess the functional and operational business needs of Risk and Financial services engagements. Develop Proof of Concepts, Demos, and other technical assets in the context of customer engagements. Strategize with sales team on objectives for customer meetings, understanding how this activity relates to overall sales plans and provide functional solution leadership for sales opportunities.
Conduct financial risk analysis, explore and design creative new approaches to solving real business problems. Lead functional assessments to understand solution requirements for risk and finance frameworks. Teach best practices on system implementation and to risk consulting teams globally.
Provide actionable, field specific feedback to solution Research & Development. Provide advisory support and quality assurance on implementations done by internal and external delivery partners. Analyze third party and in-house systems of record for portfolio and reference data sources.

Multiple positions available. Up to 50% travel domestically and internationally; May work remotely pursuant to SAS’ Flexible Work Program.

Qualifications: Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or related quantitative field plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience any related occupation in which the required experience was gained.

Alternatively, position requires a Master’s degree in Statistics, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or related quantitative field plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience in any related occupation in which the required experience was gained.

Requires experience with systems implementation within a financial institution or consulting firm. Requires experience with third or fourth generation computer programming language and risk modeling. Requires the ability to coach and mentor colleagues on risk and finance technical topics.

Requires advanced knowledge of SAS technology, architecture, and resources. Requires clear understanding of sales strategies and cycles. Requires experience with Python and Lua.
