Our client is a manufacturer of electronic components, including wire harnesses and wireless access points, for airlines and the aerospace industry. Their customers include several major airliners and tech organizations. Their manufacturing environment is high complexity, with a high mix / low volume production line.

Job Description
  • This position focuses on generating, reporting, and monitoring manufacturing quality data (QA Reports). Responsibilities include managing and communicating designated quality initiatives and performance metrics. The role involves troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolving quality issues on the production floor.
  • Key duties include overseeing daily quality operations, such as inspecting incoming materials, in-process components, sub-assemblies, finished products, conducting new product conformity assessments, and managing product returns and repair requests. The role ensures timely closure of corrective actions and verifies their effectiveness.
  • The position supports the Quality Manager/Supervisor in developing, implementing, and maintaining the Quality Management System. It also involves validating and releasing new products to manufacturing, requiring close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Engineering (R&D), Supply Chain, Production, Suppliers, and Customers.
  • Additionally, the role provides guidance, training, and support to Quality Inspectors to maintain compliance with the quality management system. It assists the Compliance and Regulatory department by performing audits, addressing findings, preparing reports, and defining corrective and preventive actions (FRACAS).
  • The position also includes analyzing defective products or materials, investigating customer returns, and implementing corrective and preventive measures to resolve customer complaints. It involves identifying, recommending, and executing improvements to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and minimize scrap and rework, while tracking related data.
  • The role ensures adherence to ethical and legal standards and requires familiarity with ISO/9001, ISO/14000, ISO/13485, and AS9100 standards. Additional tasks may be assigned as necessary.

The Successful Applicant
  • Associate's degree with 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Strong proficiency in Design and Process FMEA
  • Knowledgeable in Quality Core Tools, including APQP, PPAP, Control Plans, and Process Flow
  • Skilled in problem-solving techniques such as Ishikawa, 5W-1H, and Fault Tree Analysis
  • Proven track record with Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), First Time Quality, Production Efficiency, and Schedule Adherence
  • Demonstrated expertise in production and material control processes
  • Experience working in high-complexity, high-mix, and low-volume manufacturing environments
  • Solid understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Process Validation/Verification
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Experienced in collaborating with customers, suppliers, and senior leadership
