We are offering a contract for a permanent position as an Android Developer in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The industry is dynamic and heavily relies on innovative mobile applications for high-profile, international clientele. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of Android tools, experiment with new technologies, and collaborate with large scale retail clients.
Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain native Android tools to minimize duplication of work
- Keep abreast of new Android technologies, exploring their application and contributing to third-party frameworks
- Work on extending the functionality of apps for major retailers
- Strive for the best user experience by optimizing UI/UX elements within apps
- Advocate for Java and Kotlin best practices, organization, and automation
- Engage in knowledge sharing within the mobile development team
- Work in conjunction with large scale retail clients and their API developers
- Uphold secure coding best practices and engage in ongoing security training and awareness
- Ensure smooth interaction of apps with RESTful APIs & GraphQL through a deep understanding of HTTP/S
- Make use of Google services such as FCM, Android Pay, and understand the processes to configure, test, and launch in those environments
- Be comfortable meeting with internal and external project stakeholders
- Work flexibly in a remote setting and/or be willing to travel to meet clients
- Utilize JitPack, Gradle, or other dependency/package management systems
- Stay updated with Jetpack Compose
- Demonstrate proficiency in source code management tools, preferably Git
- Be familiar with common SDLC processes, with a preference for Agile methodologies
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
- Possess the ability to work with iOS, React Native, or other tools. • Candidate must have at least 2 years of detail-oriented experience as an Android Developer.
- Proficiency in Android Development is a must.
- In-depth knowledge of and experience with the Android SDK is required.
- Expertise in using Android Studio is expected.
- Familiarity with Atlassian Jira for project management and issue tracking is necessary.
- Experience in Backend Development is essential.
- Proven experience in AB Testing to optimize application performance.
- Ability to work in an Agile Scrum environment is important.
- Experience in API Development to facilitate communication between software systems.
- Knowledge of CSS to ensure visually appealing application design.
- Proven ability to debug applications to ensure optimal performance and user experience.
