Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate NP/PA specialized in Pain Management to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care to patients experiencing chronic pain, develop comprehensive pain management plans, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.

This role requires a strong understanding of pain management techniques, excellent patient communication skills, and the ability to work independently within a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Assessment and Diagnosis:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients presenting with chronic pain.
  • Obtain detailed medical histories, perform physical examinations, and order appropriate diagnostic tests.

Pain Management Planning:

  • Develop and implement individualized pain management plans based on patient assessments.
  • Prescribe medications, including opioids and non-opioids, following established protocols and guidelines.

Patient Education and Support:

  • Educate patients and their families about pain management strategies, medication use, potential side effects, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Provide ongoing support and counseling to help patients manage chronic pain and improve their quality of life.

Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Work closely with physicians, physical therapists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive pain management care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to discuss patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.

Documentation and Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including assessment findings, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards related to pain management and controlled substance prescribing.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay current with advancements in pain management techniques, medications, and best practices.
  • Participate in continuing education opportunities, professional development, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited institution OR master’s degree in physician assist studies from an accredited institution

Licensure:

  • Active and unrestricted license in the state of Georgia.
  • DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.

Experience:

  • Prefer 2 years of clinical experience in pain management or related field.

Skills and Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of pain management principles, pharmacology, and interventional techniques.
  • Excellent clinical, diagnostic, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Working Conditions:

  • Work in outpatient clinical setting with some travel.
