Meal Production Cook

As a Production Cook, you will produce meals of the highest quality for our various programs in accordance with recipes, production procedures and safety protocols.
What youll do in your role:
- Follow daily production sheet to prepare and cook a variety of meals according to prescribed recipes and dietary guidelines.
- Ensure that all food is prepared safely and maintained at proper temperatures to prevent foodborne illness.
- Assist in the planning and development of meal menus that meet nutritional needs of diverse populations.
- Manage inventory of food supplies and ingredients, keeping track of food usage and restocking, as needed.
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff and volunteers to efficiently serve meals.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including food preparation and storage areas, in compliance with health regulations.
- Participate in training and development activities related to food safety and nutrition.

What youll need to be successful in this role:
- High School graduate or equivalent and food related training or experience in a production kitchen or high-volume kitchen or nine years of relevant work experience may be substituted for degree.
- Strong hands-on cooking skills.
- Ability to monitor 2-15 Food Service Training Academy (FSTA) students at any given time in a production kitchen environment.
- ServSafe certified, or equivalent, in safe food handling (or, willingness to work towards certification).
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance as a model for FSTA students and staff to follow.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, time-management and problem-solving skills; high energy level; flexibility; discretion; ability to multitask and work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to operate a pallet jack or willing to be certified.
The salary range for this position is $21.00-$25.09. The final rate may be influenced by factors such as the position's scope and responsibilities, work experience, training, job-related skills, internal equity, and market conditions.
