Job Summary:
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Assistant to join our team at Hibernia Home Care. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to our clients in their homes. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be patient, empathetic and have a passion for caring for others.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Providing prompting with prescribed medication
- Preparing and serving meals and snacks
- Light housekeeping duties such as vacuuming, dusting, and laundry
- Assisting clients with mobility and transfers
- Providing companionship and emotional support to clients
Requirements:
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a care-giving role
- QQI Level 5 in Healthcare or equivalent - must have 2 modules 'Care Skills' and 'Care of the Older Person' at a minimum (If you do not hold these qualifications, please take a look at our Hibernia Academy )
- Full driving license and access to a car is desirable, but not essential depending on location
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings and weekends
- We can only employ individuals who are Irish Nationals, EU nationals or those who have pre-existing work authorisation.
