Construction Manager
Position Overview:
Power your future with Qualus as a Construction Manager in our Construction Mangement department. This role will be responsible for field oversight for Natural Disaster and Wildfire Mitigation projects in and around Northern Nevada.
Responsibilities:
- Manages and inspects the day-to-day activities of multiple contractor crews simultaneously.
- Facilitates the replacement and/or installation of electric infrastructure equipment and ensures that all safety standards, company construction standards, company specifications, and governmental regulations are met.
- Work with all stakeholders including third party consultants, contractors, and client management to maintain construction schedules, ensure work is completed on time and within budget, and per company standards.
- Makes the proper notification to all federal, state and local agencies before, during and after construction as required.
- Prior to commencement of construction, coordinates with customer(s) at the jobsite to determine specific customer requirements, construction sequencing and provides site readiness verification.
- Maintains frequent and regular contact with contractor supervision regarding job performance and documents results appropriately.
- Ensures that the terms and conditions of the contract and technical specifications are met.
- Makes the necessary field decisions regarding job changes and communicates them as necessary to the Supervisor and Program or Project Manager; documents all job changes to ensure compliance and ensures the updates get documented in the appropriate information technology systems.
- Regularly communicates job status to the appropriate parties to facilitate scheduling commitments.
- Maintains customer coordination during construction phase and conducts job walk-down with customer and contractor at job completion.
- Performs storm duty assignments as needed.
- Reports to service center, jobsite, or remote location.
Qualifications:
Location: Report to project sites in and around Reno, NV
Required Skills:
- Field Construction oversight experience
- Strong communication, management background, ability to stop work when needed.
- Safety focused.
- OSHA 30 Certification.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with undergrounding, Natural Disaster/Wildfire Mitigation projects within a utility.
