Duration: 13 weeks

Job Summary:

  • As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Med Surg unit will be an integral part of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers. The RN Clinical Nurse is responsible for delivering individualized, high-quality, and safe patient care, guided by evidence-based practices. You will ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive comprehensive care, with an emphasis on patient safety and positive outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to deliver clinical care based on evidence-based practice.
  • Provide patient-centered, relationship-based care, considering age, gender, and disease, while respecting cultural diversity.
  • Partner with patients and their families during bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, and patient teaching, ensuring that the patient’s goals are prioritized.
  • Follow current clinical practice standards to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Coordinate and document the delivery of safe, quality care while maintaining effective communication within the interdisciplinary team.
  • Practice fiscal responsibility, promote teamwork, and support recruitment and retention of healthcare team members.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives, research, and shared governance activities at all levels in the organization.
  • Complete ongoing professional competency assessments and mandatory education.
  • Serve as a preceptor or mentor for nursing staff or students, modeling professional nursing practice.
  • Foster a healthy work environment and support workforce development.
  • Promote and utilize evidence-based practices in nursing. Participate in value analysis and decision-making processes for patient care products.
  • Comply with organizational policies, legal standards, and regulatory requirements, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Collect and use data to advance evidence-based practice and pose relevant clinical questions.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing or Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

Licensure/Certification:

Registered Nurse (Single State or Multi-state Compact License).

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).

Experience:

Less than 1 year of direct patient care experience (required).

Completion of accredited/approved nursing school with required clinical hours (required).
