Finance Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will play a crucial part in advancing the company's strategic objectives. Each day, your contributions will positively impact business operations as you collaborate closely with various de-partments. You will also have the opportunity to enhance your expertise through participation in the comprehensive Global Trainee Program.

Depending on your specific assignment, your responsibilities may include:
  • Operational Controlling (Factory/Distribution centers)
  • Marketing and Sales Controlling
  • Project Controlling
Key tasks may involve:
  • Implementing performance dashboards and driving business reviews.
  • Leading a cost optimization project in a large factory.
  • Participating in month-end close processes, financial planning/forecasting, and capital invest-ment projects.
The program is structured around three distinct assignments:
  • Introduction to the Business: A nine-month assignment in your home country, providing a deep dive into the business.
  • International Experience: A six-month assignment abroad, offering insights into ABB’s opera-tions in a different environment/role, allowing you to work on exciting projects and expand your professional network.
  • Deepening Expertise: A final nine-month assignment back in your home country or home business, where you will further refine your knowledge of the business and your functional area.
Qualifications for the role
  • Recent Master’s Graduate: You have recently completed (or will complete before the program's start) a master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Economics.
  • Professional Experience: Ideally, you have some professional experience in a Finance-related function such as Controlling or Audit.
  • Communication Skills: You are an effective communicator with strong oral and written skills.
  • Financial Expertise: You have a solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analysis.
  • Technical Proficiency: You are proficient in IT, with advanced skills in Excel. Experience with business intelligence tools or programming is a plus.
  • Work Authorization: You hold valid work authorization in the U.S.
  • Team and Global Mindset: You thrive in a team environment, have a global perspective, and are eager to learn. You are open to new ideas, persistent, and curious.
  • Career Interest: You are passionate about developing a career in Controlling, particularly within the Manufacturing sector.
