Lab Tech

Our client in the Fox Chapel area of Pittsburgh is seeking a Lab/Service Tech to join the team.

The role involves testing raw materials and finished products, managing sample retention, maintaining quality control equipment, and supporting both internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory procedures, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to effectively communicate technical information.

Duties:

• Conduct tests on incoming raw materials and finished products using established lab procedures. ----
• Record and report findings to Research and Plant Management.
• Retain samples of raw materials and finished products, ensuring proper inventory management and documentation.
• Maintain quality control equipment by performing regular calibrations, ensuring cleanliness, and recommending new equipment as needed.
• Support chemists with product development experiments and assist in reporting results.
• Address technical service inquiries and application issues by performing lab evaluations.
• Provide field-based technical assistance, including site visits for start-up inspections and problem resolution.
• Support the Sales Department by fielding phone calls for technical product recommendations and application procedures.
• Manage an inventory of sales samples and prepare special samples for in-house seminars and customer testing.
• Assist in the presentation of seminars for agents and customers.
• Represent the company in relevant professional and technical associations.
