At Royalty Medical Solutions, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Clinical Lab Scientist with expertise in Molecular Biology to work with our client a large reference lab. This position requires working in a fast-paced clinical laboratory setting to perform and interpret a variety of molecular diagnostic tests.The Clinical Lab Scientist - Molecular Biologist plays a crucial role in assisting with the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases through the analysis of genetic material.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform complex molecular diagnostic tests and procedures, such as DNA extraction, amplification, and sequencing.
- Analyze and interpret molecular test results, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Maintain and troubleshoot molecular laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of biological samples.
- Follow laboratory policies and procedures to maintain compliance with regulatory standards and quality control requirements.
- Collaborate with medical staff and other healthcare professionals to communicate test results and provide guidance on appropriate treatment plans.
- Stay updated with advancements in molecular biology and participate in continuing education to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Assist in the training and supervision of laboratory assistants and other personnel.
- Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
- Valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist license from a recognized certifying agency.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory with a focus on molecular diagnostics.
- Proficient in molecular biology techniques, including PCR, RT-PCR, and DNA sequencing.
- Strong understanding of laboratory regulations and quality assurance practices.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
