To provide expertise and leadership in power supply and electromagnetic engineering as applicable to magnetic confinement research devices.
-Play a lead role in the design, commissioning and operation of power supplies associated with magnetic confinement research devices including the use of existing facilities, upgrades to existing facilities, and the construction of new facilities for new projects.This includes high current, high voltage, multi-MW AC/DC converter systems and associated equipment such as power cabling, DC bus bar, control systems, and protection systems, as well as the integrationwith experimental fusion research devices such as tomahawks and stellerators.
- Planning, development, coordination, and execution of important tasks as Cognizant Individual
- Technical oversight, performance, reliability and configuration of assigned subsystem as Responsible Engineer including both design and operational aspects.
- Institutional service as Technical Authority (subject matter expert) on assigned engineering topical area.
- Identification of resource needs and the supervision of professionals and technicians who assist Cognizant Engineer tasks and Responsible Engineer equipment scope.
