Accounts Receivable Clerk

We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Clerk in the transport industry. This role is based in Long Beach, California. As an Accounts Receivable Clerk, you will be primarily tasked with managing unpaid statements and tracking customer payment statuses, with a focus on maintaining strong relationships with our VIP and freight forwarding customers.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and monitor customer accounts, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payments.
• Keep track of all outstanding invoices and unpaid statements, initiating collection processes when necessary.
• Act as the primary point of contact for over 25 VIP customers, addressing any queries or disputes promptly and professionally.
• Utilize our IRIS-4 system to assist with credit payment transfers and freight offsetting.
• Work closely with the internal team and external customers to resolve any payment issues.
• Maintain a high level of proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for various tasks, including downloading statements from our internal platform.
• Conduct regular account reconciliations to ensure all records are up-to-date and accurate.
• Handle all aspects of billing, from issuing invoices to resolving any related disputes.
• Oversee cash collections and cash applications, ensuring all processes are carried out efficiently and accurately.
• Familiarize yourself with various software tools, including Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP, to enhance work productivity and efficiency. • Minimum of 1 year experience in an Accounts Receivable role or similar
• Proven expertise in Account Reconciliation
• Solid understanding and experience with Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Proficiency in Billing procedures and Cash Applications
• Demonstrated ability in Cash Collections
• Experience with Commercial Collections is necessary
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
• Familiarity with Oracle financial software
• Experience with QuickBooks accounting software
• Proficiency in SAP business software is required
