Overview:
East Penn Mfg., Co., Inc. (Deka Battery) is currently seeking an Automotive Application Engineer (AE) to analyze Electric Vehicle platform (xEV) architectures and battery technologies to determine the future requirements and applications for Low Voltage batteries.The AE will be responsible for planning and executing data collection and analysis on hybrid and full electric vehicles. This information will be used to answer technical questions and provide guidance for internal and external stakeholders. The AE will work within the automotive engineering department to assess the impact of changes on xEV vehicles and systems.
The AE works with engineering and sales staff to review customer/operational needs and to define and develop appropriate solutions. The AE will support other Application Engineers with current customers and their operational needs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Engineering guidance and support to Manufacturing, Quality, H&S, Sales, Costing, and Maintenance on Automotive products, equipment, and tooling.
- Develop and deliver engineering/project information, technical reports, and presentations to management, customers, vendors, and technical partners.
- Planning and executing data collection and analysis on hybrid and full electric vehicles.
- Assess the impact of changes on xEV vehicles and systems.
- Support other Application Engineering personnel as needed.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates should possess the ability to perform assignments requiring the application of standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria in support of assigned manufacturing process operations. Prior experience/knowledge with EV architectures and advanced battery technology is preferred.Systems Engineering experience is preferred. Experience with Energy Management, Electrical Charging and Storage systems is a plus. Specific experience should include troubleshooting, developing and designing process solutions. 4-year degree in a science or engineering field required (examples: chemistry, physics, math, electrical or mechanical).
