Software Engineer III
Overview:
Software Engineer III - (employer: Sirius XM Radio Inc.; job location: Irving, TX) - Design, develop, document and integrate software components for original equipment manufacturer(OEM) implementations of Sirius XM Radio. Use C++ and Java in QNX, Linux and Android
environments. Maintain internal 360L applications used by QA, Automation Testing and certain
partners/OEMs. Work closely with internal customers, engineering, design and program
management teams in an Agile, continuous integration environment to deliver products to market.
Provide risk analysis, prioritization, and scheduling of outstanding change requests (bugs) andfeature enhancements. Provide reports, perform special projects, and conduct lab/field testing.
Requirements: Bachelor’ Degree in Computer Science or Engineering (Computer or Electrical), plus 3 years of experience in the offered position or a software developer or software engineer
position. All required experience must have included performing software development on
Android and iOS apps; coding in C++ and Java in an embedded environment; applying knowledge
of object oriented methodologies and system software design concepts; participating in formal
documentation and source code reviews to provide relevant and insightful feedback to team
members; and working with scripting languages Ruby and Python, XML, JSON, HTML, REST
HTTP protocols, configuration management and defect tracking tools Github and Jira, unit testing
best practices, Linux and Windows operating systems, and MS Word, Excel and Access including
