Job Description:

JOB OBJECTIVE: The Advanced Technologies Group (ATG) at Promega is a dynamic and forward-thinking team, dedicated to pushing the boundaries of bioluminescent technologies for life science research. We are an innovative group of scientists who integrate molecular biology, biochemistry, and cellular biology to develop tools that enhance real-time biological insights.

Our goal is to create cutting-edge technologies that revolutionize the study of cellular health, gene editing, and molecular interactions.

As part of the ATG, you will be immersed in a collaborative, creative, and fast-paced research environment where open-mindedness and critical thinking are paramount. Our team thrives on curiosity and experimental rigor, applying these values to solve complex biological problems.

Though you will be expected to work collaboratively and under the guidance of a Senior Scientist, we will also mentor you towards independence in your research project. You will work with a broader interdisciplinary team, including cell biologists, organic chemists, and computational biologists, to develop novel bioluminescence-based tools for monitoring in real-time biochemical and biological systems.

CORE DUTIES:

  1. Collaborate as a bench scientist on projects that explore and optimize luminescent technologies.
  2. Work closely with team members from diverse scientific disciplines to integrate and apply bioluminescent technologies across various applications.
  3. Present findings and progress to the broader team, honing your communication and analytical skills in a collaborative setting.
  4. Demonstrates inclusion through your own words and actions. Acts with kindness, curiosity and respect for others.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, or a related field.
  2. Strong analytical mindset with a passion for scientific innovation and discovery.
  3. Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a desire to learn from and contribute to a collaborative environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Prior research experience in biochemistry or related field.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  1. Ability to work at lab bench or fume hood for extended period of time.
  2. Ability to wear protection gear (gloves, lab coat, safety glasses, etc.).
  3. Ability to use a computer/Microsoft Office applications.
