About the Team:
The Senior Director of Finance Operations and Order-to-Cash (O2C) will play a pivot role in leading and optimizing our financial processes, enhancing operational efficiency, and driving the transformation of our O2C cycle. This role is instrumental in aligning finance operations with business goals, improving cash flow, and delivering exceptional customer and stakeholder value.The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of finance operations, O2C processes, and change management.
Responsibilities:
Finance Operations Leadership:
- Oversee and optimize core finance operations, including billing, collections, accounts receivable, and cash applications.
- Develop and implement best practices, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance, efficiency, and scalability.
- Drive automation and digitization across finance operations to streamline workflows and enhance accuracy.
Order-to-Cash Transformation:
- Lead the end-to-end transformation of the O2C process, from order management to revenue recognition and cash collection.
- Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements to reduce cycle time, minimize errors, and optimize working capital.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, operations, IT, and customer service) to align O2C processes with organizational goals.
- Leverage technology solutions such as ERP systems, robotic process automation (RPA), and data analytics to enhance O2C performance.
Strategy and Change Management:
- Develop a strategic roadmap for finance operations and O2C transformation, ensuring alignment with the organization's overall business strategy.
- Act as a change agent, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the finance organization.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on progress, challenges, and outcomes.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead a high-performing team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to ensure team members are equipped to execute on strategic initiatives.
- Establish clear performance metrics and monitor team performance against objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in finance operations, including leadership roles.
- Expertise in O2C processes, financial systems, and process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Proven track record of driving large-scale finance transformation initiatives and managing complex projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Workday,Netsuite) and financial software; experience with automation tools is a plus.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in a global organization with exposure to multi-currency and multi-entity environments.

Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than New York City, may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base salary pay range for this position is $157,000 - $210,000
Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
